Crash Landings II

Michael asleep in his tracks.

Michael & Christian

Once again,

and again.

Ethan snuggling with Luke. Zonkers!

Not sure how this could be comfortable, but didn't seem to stop Christian.

Michael, once again. (Who could fall asleep like that. Ouch!)
What can I say, I love to get pictures of the kids when they are sleeping. However, if they are in bed for the night, I hope to be in bed too!

Boo!

In my valiant effort to teach my boys the Gospel, I've been teaching them the Articles of Faith. Each night we sing a variety of songs prior to our prayer. Although I'm not much of a musician, I can read music a little so we've been learning the Article of Faith songs. We've mastered the first one! It will be interesting to see, however, if Michael always yells an enthusiastic "BOO!" at the end, "...and in the Holy Ghost. BOO!" Maybe we shouldn't have taught that one during the Halloween season.

Silly Boys & Pumpkins

This is a marvelous time of year, the air is crisp and cool, mingled with the familiar smell of burning wood. There is just something magic about Fall. Anyway, thanks to a brilliant friends idea, which we copied, for FHE we took the boys to pick out their pumpkins. The boys, being their usual boisterous selves, willingly posed for pictures. Obviously that went well...

I Love President Monson

Did you hear what he said? Actually, he said many wonderful things that filled me with hope. But one of the things that really applied to my life right now, and made me want to enjoy the "moments", was when he said one day we would miss the toys everywhere and the piles of neverending laundry. He is my Prophet and I believe him. Now I must overcome the guilt I feel when I haven't finished all of the "things" I think must be done. I'm going to play with my boys...

Ethan's Opinion

Ethan and the Doctor
DR: "So what are you going to be for Halloween?"
ET: "Superman."
DR: "He's my favorite superhero because he's a real alien so I can understand how he got his powers. But Batman, he is just a guy dressed up in a cool suit, how is he supposed to have powers?"
ET: "Actually, Batman doesn't fly, he just falls in style."
DR & Mom exchange a look...where does he come up with these things?
By the way, he does have strep...bummer!

A Nostalgic Moment

Ethan, September 20, 2008

Why do they have to grow up? This is probably a silly question, especially considering this week in particular. However, looking back at him I see how much he has grown and I just can't help but reflect. My little boy, he's in 2nd grade, reading 'real' books, riding a bicycle, tying his shoes, losing teeth, taking care of himself and as curious as ever. Okay, I know these are all age appropriate things, but when did he grow up? When Ethan falls asleep on the couch, I have to wake him up because he's too big to carry. He gets frustrated when I try to tell him something he already knows. Today he only has one front tooth left and can hardly talk because it's dangling there and he won't let me pull it out. He could just bump it with his tongue and it'd be gone.

Ethan has become such a fantastic helper and I am so grateful for him. Lukes grin can not be contained when he sees Ethan and he squeals with delight when they play peek-a-boo. In some ways I'm happy that he is growing up, but there are moments when I just want to keep him safe in my arms and never let him out into that big, scary world. I'm such a selfish Mother.

Incredible Eyes

So the verdict is still out. What color will Luke's eyes be?
